Ascension Gown
 
A couture column of perforated cotton, pleated into lightness and embroidered by hand.
 
The Ascension Gown is cut from a proprietary cotton blend developed to hold a laser-cut perforated surface while remaining soft, breathable, and light on the body. After cutting, the fabric is printed with an atmospheric pastel composition inspired by ascension, open air, and the hot-air balloons of the Southwest — a dreamlike landscape of pink, white, lavender, and blue.
 
Across the surface, bands of embroidery are worked in a diagonal twill-like stitch, interrupting the vertical rhythm of the pleats with a structured, hand-rendered stripe. This embroidery is adapted from the house’s signature leather embroidery technique and reimagined here in cotton thread. Each gown requires approximately three weeks of embroidery alone.
 
Inside, a satin-faced organza corset is finished with Japanese mesh binding, allowing the internal structure to hold the body while offering a subtle degree of flexibility. The result is supportive, refined, and designed to move with the natural shifts of the body throughout wear.
 
A removable tulle petticoat allows the silhouette to be styled with greater volume for formal occasions, or worn with a softer, lighter drape for warmer evenings, garden settings, and less formal moments. Hidden side-seam pockets are built into the gown for ease without disrupting the line.
 
Finished with a center-back invisible zipper.
